Where are we located
EIT Manufacturing’s regional offices are strategically located to link regions with high levels of manufacturing activity and advanced technology. Headquartered in Paris, EITM has six regional offices in Darmstadt (Central), Vienna (East), Gothenburg (North), Milan (South), Athens (South East) and San Sebastian (West).
EIT Manufacturing North is responsible for driving EIT Business Development & Innovation activities in the Northern region: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and UK.
About the position
You will sell & deliver our open innovation commercial services targeted for startups, SMEs and mid cap corporations fostering collaboration and driving sustainable growth in manufacturing. These services are part of strategic externally funded projects and requires ability to adapt to the publicly funded models (such as Vinnova, Horizon Europe, etc).
You will generate quality leads for SMEs, Mid cap corporations and implement the part of the customer journey for open innovation commercial services. Our focus is to promote innovative solutions for the most pressing challenges of European manufacturers.
You will also participate in the external projects’ consortium meetings, understand the compliance requirements and liase with the project stakeholders.
The organizational title for this role will be Strategic Projects Officer.
Tasks
- Build and serve a portfolio of manufacturing start-ups, SMEs, and Mid cap corporations across Northern Europe aligned with our mission, strategy and value proposition.
- Work with those companies to understand and act on their manufacturing needs, digital transformation and sustainability challenges, decision-making processes, and operational modalities.
- Identify and evaluate potential commercial opportunities with SMEs and Mid cap corporations with focus on facilitating the collaboration with startups and other actors.
- Understand EIT Manufacturing North’s service offering, external projects service offerings then help deliver and shape them for the industrial partners.
- Build collaborations between various industry and eco-system players for proposals, services and innovative development projects.

What we expect
- University level education or equivalent in a relevant field e.g. business management, entrepreneurship or engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of post-graduate experience.
- An understanding of Industry 4.0 trends and the challenges facing European (especially Swedish) Manufacturing, preferably from established manufacturing companies (as opposed to startups) in one or more of our Northern hub countries.
- Sales and analytical skills for conducting B2B sales, market research and project management.
- Exposure to innovation ecosystem, marketing and sales of services (Startups, corporate ventures, Technology Transfer offices, investment companies, match-making etc).
- English is our business language; Swedish is a strong advantage; another Northern hub language is a plus.

- Ability to articulate ideas clearly and engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Proficient in delivering compelling presentations that resonate with stakeholders.
- Experience in driving B2B sales cycles and fostering long-term business relationships.
- A positive, open mindset and a thrive in working independently.
- Comfortable with occasional travel to events, customers and stake holders (Sweden, Nordics, EU).
Nice to have Experience with any of the following (but not necessary)
- Investment strategies for young organizations
- Education development in industrial consortia
- IPR strategy, evaluation, road-maps
- PoC and piloting new technologies in industrial environments
- Building business cases for new technologies for industrial use cases
- Commercialization of new technologies
- Growing or scaling businesses
Personality
EIT Manufacturing North is a young office, coming up to 5 years old, and in the innovation space. The organization is growing and needing more talent to join the team.
