About the Impact Centre South (IC South):
EIT Manufacturing – IC South, headquartered in Milan, Italy, is one of EIT Manufacturing’s six Impact Centres. IC South currently serves eight Southern-Europe countries, including Italy, Malta, Switzerland, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Montenegro.
The IC South is an integral part of the EIT Manufacturing (KIC)’s governance, fostering connectivity with local ecosystems through the provision of physical/digital spaces for interaction. It initiates, hosts and implements the various KIC’s activities and provides a platform for discussion of innovative ideas.
At IC South, we identify and build new possibilities to thrive the KIC’s long-term sustainability and are actively involved in securing funding for Innovation, Education and Business Creation activities, also as Cross-KIC opportunities. Financial Controller Officer - EIT Manufacturing
Full-time position at the EIT Manufacturing, Impact Centre South – Milan / Italy

About the position:
We are looking for a talented Financial Controller to help us manage our finances and maximize our European grant opportunities.
Missions:
- Handle all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Manage our main European grant fund, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives.
- Support in the implementation or creation of tools and processes that do not yet exist, thinking outside the box to provide innovative solutions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
Key Accountabilities:
Budgeting/Planning:
- Prepare and coordinate the budget process in close collaboration with the IC South Operations team.
- prepare and assess quarterly financial forecasts and projections
Reporting:
- ensure the quality and accuracy of accounting data and analytical information under the supervision of the Operations Manager and with the assistance of CPAs.
- collect and assess expenditure data through the soon-to-be ERP system (Oracle NetSuite), supporting internal and external audits.
Projects, Finance Projects, and Tools:
- support the EIT Manufacturing South team in analysing cost eligibility regulations and provide support for external contracting.
- monitor the use of funds by EIT Manufacturing projects via sampling and projection of expenditure.
- contribute to the ongoing implementation and administration of management tools (e.g., ERP, cost reporting files, cash flow tools).
Qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience in financial control, accounting, and European grant management (e.g. Horizon Europe).
- Strong analytical skills and great attention to details, highly organised, proactive, hands-on.
- Expert user of software tools such as the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to drive transparency and simplicity in complex administrative processes.
- Excellent command of the Italian and English languages is mandatory.; additional European languages are a plus.
- International experience, both in the public and private sectors is welcome.

Location:
The position is hybrid, with the main location at EIT Manufacturing IC South, in Milan (Italy) with the opportunity of travelling for meetings or events.
