Director of Finance – EIT Manufacturing - ASBL
Full-time position at EIT Manufacturing ASBL located in either France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Greece or Italy.
About the position:
The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, business control, accounting, grant management, and business planning within our organisation. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in financial transformation process development, and strategic decision-making to help us achieve sustainable growth and maintain our commitment to financial transparency and accountability. The Director of Finance will be supported by an experienced and committed team.
Missions and key Accountabilities:
- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop, communicate, and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with its growth objectives and mission.
- Collaborate with the Management Team to create long-term financial plans, cashflow forecasts, and budgets that support the business planning, expansion, and innovation.

- Grant Management:
- Manage and oversee the financial aspects of grants, contracts, and funding agreements with precision and accountability.
- Work closely with program managers to ensure compliance with grant terms, reporting requirements, and timely utilization of funds.

- Financial Management:
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to drive informed decision-making to management.
- Oversee cash flow management, optimising working capital while managing financial risk.

- Business Control and Accounting:
- Lead all aspects of accounting, including financial reporting, financial KPIs monitoring, ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and tax compliance with the support of our external accountants.
- Implement best practices for internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and international accounting standards.

- Business Process Optimisation and ERP roll-out:
- Assess and improve existing financial processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Streamline financial operations to support the organisation's growth trajectory.
- Roll out of the ERP (Netsuite) and implement best-in-class practice within the finance team and other finance related departments.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability.
- Develop the team's capabilities and create opportunities for professional development.
Qualifications and experience:
- Master's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or CPA designation is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Finance Director or in a senior finance leadership role, preferably in a scale-up or high-growth organization.
- Experience of French legal and financial system.
- Strong understanding of public-private partnership dynamics, non-profit accounting principles, as well as knowledge of financial regulation and experience of grant management within Horizon Europe or similar European funding schemes.
- Demonstrated ability to drive financial strategy, implement financial controls, and optimize business processes in an international environment.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, analysis, and reporting tools.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- French language is necessary.

Location:
The role can be based in Paris at the EIT Manufacturing Headquarters or remotely from any of the following countries: France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, or Portugal with regular travel to EIT Manufacturing’s headquarters in Paris, as well as other regional offices, partners across 18 EU countries, and key stakeholders.

- The Director of Finance will be reporting to the COO of EIT Manufacturing.
